Our Mission

To serve the people of Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hyde, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell and Washington Counties. We work in partnership with private citizens, community groups, businesses and local, state and federal units of government or agencies to implement projects that create a better place for our citizens to live, work and play.  Project design and implementation are based on sound science and practical experience.

How ARCD can help:
  • Assistance with grant writing
  • Project Design
  • Project Management
  • Technical Oversight
  • Environmental Education
Project proposals, submitted in writing, are considered by the ARCD Council.  Consideration is given to the merits of the proposal, its impact on the environment and resources, its impact upon human resources, and its potential for spurring economic development and the potential for the project to improve the standards of living for the region or the community.
